Colin Nackerman serves as a Program Coordinator with the Solar Training Network. Before joining The Solar Foundation, Colin spent the previous few years working in the climate field while studying environmental policy at George Mason University. He worked for two years at the Center for Ocean-Land-Atmosphere Studies (COLA) at George Mason, where he assisted with research and administrative support, and thoroughly enjoyed working with and learning from climate scientists. He also interned with the Center for Climate Change Communication and the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR). Colin spends much of his time and passion in grassroots organizing and campaign management for various environmental causes.
Colin Says: “After moving from the suburbs to a National Forest in the mountains of Southern California, I learned to both appreciate the natural environment and understand its fragility. I experienced the increasing devastation of wildfires firsthand, became impassioned to seek solutions, and took my first step into the field after leading a large wind and solar project at my high school. I made the leap to George Mason University where I was able to work with brilliant minds in the climate field, but post-graduation I wanted to directly help people while also addressing climate change, and that is what we’re accomplishing at The Solar Foundation. These passionate and driven individuals are actively transforming our energy economy while helping ordinary people at every step of the way, and I’m so fortunate to be a part of the team.”
