“When the opportunity arose to be the Solar Ready Vets program coordinator and instructor at Fort Drum, I took it. I saw it as a way to combine my passion for teaching with my lifelong interest in solar energy. Coming from a teaching background in math, I know what it’s like to teach people who are not engaged in the class. Let’s be honest, math is not a favorite topic for a lot of people. However, when I teach the Solar Ready Vets students everyone is engaged and eager to learn. As a teacher, you can’t ask for more! The Solar Ready Vets classes at Fort Drum have been the best classes I have ever taught.”

The Solar Foundation led Solar Ready Vets, a program that provides quality training and hands-on experience to transitioning military personnel who are within six months of separation. With your support, The Solar Foundation is building a strong and diverse solar workforce.
